November 2024

11/1-Tuition due

11/10-first half of recital costume payment due

11/11-Veterans Day- We are OPEN, and all classes will be held.

11/25-11/30- Closed for Thanksgiving break- NO classes will be held.

11/25 Performance at Veterans Home with company solos/duets- 4-4:40pm and then company solo/duet rehearsal 5:00-6:15pm.

December 2024

12/1-Tuition due

12/6-12/8–Revel Dance Convention in Portland, ME for Company members-optional but recommended– REGISTRATION IS CLOSED. Some Company Solos and duets compete. Convention is required to compete.

12/9–NEW DATE: Company Holiday Party- at the studio-6:30-7:30pm -Each company member brings a gift of $10 or less for a gift exchange. This will work well for busy families and for kids that travel a distance. We will run Level 3 Company Hip Hop and Level Company Lyrical (7:30-7:40), Level 4 Company Jazz and Level 4 Company Ballet (7:40-7:50pm). Level 4 Ballet will only be 6:00-6:30 this night.

12/10-second half of recital costume payment due

12/23-1/2– Closed for the Holiday break- no classes will be held.

January 2025

1/1- Tuition due

1/6- Classes resume

1/20– (Martin Luther King Jr Day)-We are OPEN, and all classes will be held. Level 5 company will rehearse Jazz and Contemporary- 2-3pm for an extra rehearsal.

1/19-Performance Teams and Company Hip Hop Routine perform at the Maine Celtics 1pm game. Performance Teams perform pre-game- Older Performance Team does their Jazz routine only and Company Hip Hop routines at halftime.

1/24-Company Rehearsal for Showcase at studio( no costumes)- 4:00-5:45pm. Solos/duets- 4:00-4:45pm Group Dances 4:45-5:45pm. Please pick up the dancers at 5:45pm.

1/26-Company and Performance Team Showcase at South Portland High School- rehearsal at the theater before the showcase.( info has been sent).

February 2025

2/8 and 2/9- Kaleidoscope Dance Awards Competition for ALL SDC company- South Portland High School

2/17-2/22- Closed for School vacation- no classes will be held.

March 2025

2/28-3/2– Headliners competition at Westbrook Performing Arts for ALL SDC company.-Tentative Date

3/28-3/30- Dancers Inc Competition at South Portland High School for ALL SDC company-Tentative Date

April 2025

4/1-Tuition Due

4/1-Revised Company Schedule after competitions begins.

4/1-Performance Teams and some company routines perform at the Enclave Nursing Home (18 Blackpoint Road in Scarborough)- 4:00-4:40pm

Performers-Please arrive in costume with hair in low ponytail at 3:50pm. No makeup needed.

Performances-

Younger Performance Team-Class is on Wednesday 6:45-7:15pm

Older Performance Team Class is on-Monday- 4:00-4:30pm – both Jazz and Lyrical dances. We will change there. Jazz dance will be performed first.

Level 3 Company Lyrical- Not About Angels

Level 4-Lyrical- Time After Time

Level 5 Ballet- Moon River- We will perform Ballet first

Level 5 Contemporary

4/2-Recital digital download fee due- required if in Recital. One fee per family.

4/5-Recital Tickets go on sale online.

4/21-4/26-Closed for school vacation-no classes will be held.

May 2025

5/1-Tuition Due

5/3-Recital Picture Day (SATURDAY) at the studio for ALL classes, including Toddle Inn classes.

5/9- End of year company party- location and time to be determined

5/10-5/15-In studio Dress Rehearsal week- wear your recital costumes to class.

5/15-Last day of regular classes

5/17 -Recitals at South Portland High School for all recital classes, including Toddle Inn classes. We will run the dances for the studio recital classes on stage right before the shows, in order of the shows (not in costume), then do 1-hour to 1 hour and 10–15-minute shows. Parents must change their dancers into their first costume after the stage rehearsal. Toddle Inn classes will not run the dances before the show.

5/19, 5/21, 5/22-May/June 3 week sessions start on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays- Guest teachers and SDC staff.
Dates: 5/19, 5/21, 5/22, no class on Memorial Day( 5/26), 5/28, 5/29, 6/2, 6/4, 6/5, and 6/9

REQUIRED FOR COMPANY MEMBERS 2025-2026, IF YOU CANNOT ATTEND PLEASE CONTACT MELISSA TO MAKE UP WITH A CAMP THIS SUMMER.

June 2025

6/10– workshops with guest teachers

6/16-6/19(Monday-Thursday)-Dance camps for ages 4-7(Swifty and Princess/Prince Mix) -9:00-12:00pm -includes dance, crafts, and games. Cost: $170

6/16-6/19– Swifty/Pop Camp- ages 8-12- 9:00-12:00pm – Cost: $170, Full Day Camp- 9:00-4:00pm. Cost: $285

$25 discount for siblings.

Required for company dancers with solos/duets ages 8-12 Beg. -adv. Beginner level. 9:00-12:00pm.  Highly suggested company dancers who want to dance more and grow!

6/16-6/19- Dance Technical/Artistic Intensive for committed dancers ages 11 and up- required for Company Members with solos/duets/ extra dances and LEVEL 5 DANCERS- 9:00-2pm. Highly suggested for dancers ages 11 and up who want to grow!

Cost: $235 – Dancers can stay until 4:00pm, if needed for an additional $50 for the week.

6/24 -6/27– 4-days-Ballet/ Technical/Artistic Intensive for committed dancers ages 9 and up w/guest teachers- 9:00-12:00pm each day. Cost: $170. THIS IS REQUIRED TO COMPETE IN BALLET LEVELS 4 AND UP.

OLDER COMPANY BALLET WILL LEARN CHOREOGRAPHY THIS WEEK- 12:30-1:45 EACH DAY. Routines will be videotaped and sent out in dropbox to practice.

If company members competing in Ballet leave at 1:45pm. Their tuition is $235 for the week leaving at 2:35pm.

If you would like a full day, 9:00-4:00pm, it will be $285. The afternoon 12:45-4:00pm will have improv, conditioning, stretching, dance composition, crafts, and team bonding??

6/23-6/26-( Monday-Thursday) (Bluey, Trolls, and Disney Theme) Dance Camps for ages 4-7-includes dance, crafts, and games.9:00-12:00pm – Cost: $170

Private lessons and company solo/duet/trio/extra dance choreography will be done this month.

July 2025

Toddle Inn 6-week sessions will begin. (Dates to be determined)

7/7-7/10-Dance Camps for kids ages 4-12- 9:00-12:00pm-Two age groups- Cost: $170

7/7-7/10- Jazz, Contemporary, Musical Theater, Acro, and Hip-Hop Camp- for Dancers 10 and up who want to improve their training and grow!

9:00-12:00 Half Day- $170 or Full Day- 9:00-4:00pm- Cost: $285

7/14-7/17-WHO IS INTERESTED IN A CAMP THIS WEEK? If we have enough interested kids, we can run a camp!

7/14-Monday  3 or 4-week sessions start.

Private lessons and company solo/duet/trio/extra dance choreography will be done this month.

August 2025

8/11-8/15-REQUIRED COMPANY CAMP-9AM-3PM- Monday-Friday. Older Dancers may have later hours.

September 2025

9/1-Tuition Due.

9/2,9/3, 9/4, 9/5-company choreography in the afternoons/evenings

9/8– Fall Classes begin.
